Create your first event
From an empty account to an event that is ready to publish. Fifteen minutes, and nothing is visible to anyone until you say so.
Signing in
Invitatum has no passwords. You type your email address on the sign-in page, we send you a link, and clicking that link signs you in. The link is single-use and expires, so it is safe to leave sitting in your inbox.
The first time you sign in, Invitatum creates your own workspace — your organisation — around you. Everything you build lives inside it, and later you can invite other people into it.
Creating the event
On the Events page, press + New event. That drops you into the event wizard, which has five steps along the top:
- Basics — what, when and where.
- Design — what the guest page looks like.
- Registration form — the questions you ask.
- Confirmation email — what lands in the guest's inbox after they answer.
- Review & open — publish it.
You can move between the steps freely and come back tomorrow. Nothing you do here is public until the final step.
Filling in the basics
Only a name and a start time are genuinely required. The rest earns its place:
- Event name — what guests see as the title. "Maya & Theo's Wedding", not "Wedding v3 final".
- Description — a rich-text block for the invitation itself. Dress code, timetable, parking, the story of how you met. Formatting, links and lists all work.
- Venue and Address — shown on the page and used for the calendar invitation guests can add.
- Starts — the date and time, shown in each guest's own format.
- Registration closes (optional) — after this moment the page stops accepting answers. Useful when the caterer needs final numbers on a fixed day.
- Capacity (optional) — once this many guests have registered, later arrivals go on the waiting list instead of being turned away.
- Guest page language — the language of the automatic texts guests see, such as error messages and button labels. Your own writing is used exactly as you typed it.
Guest language is separate from yours. You can run the app in English while your guests read Finnish, or the other way round. The setting lives on each event, so different events can differ.
Press Save & continue → and move on to the design step.
What happens next
Your event now exists as a draft. It appears on the Events page with its status, and you can leave and return as often as you like. When you are happy with the page and the form, the Review & open step publishes it and gives you the link to share.
