Send messages and reminders

One message, sent to exactly the people who need it, personalised with each guest’s own name and link.

Writing a message

On the Messages tab, press New message. Three fields:

  • Send to — which group receives it: everyone, only the registered, only those who have not reacted, only the waiting list.
  • Subject — what shows in the inbox.
  • Message — the body.

Merge tags

Two placeholders are replaced per recipient:

  • {{first_name}} — the guest's first name.
  • {{personal_link}} — their own page, where they can view, change or cancel their registration.

Include the personal link in almost every message. It is what turns a broadcast into something the guest can act on.

The reminder recipe. Choose Not reacted as the recipients and include {{personal_link}}. That is a nudge that reaches only the people still deciding, and gives them a one-tap way to answer. Nobody who already replied is bothered.

Test it on yourself first

✉ Send test to me sends the message to your own address, merge tags and all. Do this every time. It costs ten seconds and catches the broken link, the wrong date and the sentence that reads differently than it sounded in your head.

Scheduling

Tick Schedule for later instead of sending now and pick a date and time in your own local time. The message then sends automatically within a few minutes of that moment — you do not need to be online, and the app does not need to be open.

Scheduled messages are listed under Scheduled with their send time, and you can cancel one until it goes. The time must be at least a minute in the future.

Delivery statistics

Each sent message shows how it landed: delivered, opened, clicked, bounced.

Read opens with suspicion. Open tracking is an estimate everywhere, not just here. Apple Mail's privacy protection inflates it; guests who block images deflate it. Bounces are the reliable number — they mean the mail genuinely did not arrive, and they are worth acting on. Statistics begin from the day the feature was deployed; older sends have nothing to show.

If nothing arrives

Check the bounce badges on the Participants tab first — a single bad address explains most "they never got it" reports. Sending to guests requires an email address, so a message can also report that no recipients matched.
