Check guests in at the door

On the day you want one screen, big buttons and no thinking. That is what the Check-in tab is.

Before the doors open

Open the Check-in tab on the phone or tablet you will use at the door, and sign in there in advance. Doing this while you still have good wifi and a free hand is the difference between a calm door and a queue.

Checking someone in

Type part of a name into the search box and press Enter. Tap ✓ Check in beside the right person. That is the whole interaction.

The Checked in counter at the top updates as you go, and it is live — if two of you are working the door on two devices, you both see the same number, and neither of you can check the same guest in twice.

The two warnings

  • Already checked in — someone has been through. Usually a friend collecting a wristband for them.
  • This guest declined the invitation — they said no and came anyway. Check in anyway lets them through; the warning exists so you notice, not so you refuse.

Undo reverses the last check-in, for the moment you tap the wrong Virtanen.

The door list

Open the door list gives a plain, scannable list of who is expected. Useful when the network is unreliable, when someone else is working the door on paper, or when you simply want to see the whole room at a glance.

After the party

Under After the event… there is a single button: Mark remaining as No-show. It takes everyone still sitting at "Registered" and records that they did not arrive, and reports how many that was.

Do it once, the day after. It turns your check-in numbers into an honest attendance record, which is what you will want when you are deciding how much food to order for the next one.
